Doutor, mestre e licenciado em Geografia pela Univ. do Porto, tem desenvolvido investigação científica nas áreas da história e da geografia do turismo, da morfologia, história urbana, património e turismo bem como da geografia social. É investigador do CIIIC - Centro de Investigação Interdisciplinar e de Intervenção Comunitária do ISCET, onde é responsável pelo projeto de investigação CHIP sobre cultura e património na cidade do Porto, e membro integrado do CEGOT. É coordenador da licenciatura em Turismo e do mestrado em Turismo e Desenvolvimento de Negócios do ISCET.
