Jorge Mario Bergoglio

Nasceu em Buenos Aires em1936. Ingressou no noviciado da Companhia de Jesus em 1958, tendo-se ordenado em 1969. Tornou-se bispo auxiliar em 1992 e arcebispo em 1998.

Proclamado cardeal pelo Papa João Paulo II em 2001, participou no conclave que elegeu Bento XVI como Sumo Pontífice. Com 76 anos, o novo Papa tomou o nome de Francisco e assumiu um novo compromisso de fé e de renovação social, com uma Igreja mais humilde.
