Jorge Lino Alves
Born in Porto in 1961. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering (1985) from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), obtained a Master's degree in Materials and Manufacturing Processes from FEUP (1991), and a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Lehigh University, USA (1997). He is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at FEUP and has conducted research in the areas of Foundry, Additive Manufacturing, and Product Development. He teaches several curricular units in the area of materials and technological processes. He is the Deputy Director of the Master's Program in Industrial and Product Design, Director of the Product and Service Development Laboratory, and President of the Brazilian Materials Society. He has co-authored three books on Additive Manufacturing and is co-author of a book on Technical Ceramics, has more than 500 articles in scientific journals, book chapters, and conferences, and has received 27 awards in national and international competitions.
