Jorge Bucay nasceu em Buenos Aires, em 1949. É psiquiatra e psicoterapeuta e exerce a sua profissão na Argentina, no México e em Espanha, dirigindo cursos de psicologia da vida quotidiana bem como grupos de reflexão para empresas e particulares. É autor de nove livros com um grande sucesso de vendas em Espanha e na América Latina, de entre os quais se destacam Deixa-me Que Te Conte, Contos para Pensar, Cartas para Cláudia, Amar de Olhos Abertos e Conta Comigo, todos publicados pela Pergaminho, e que venderam já mais de dois milhões de exemplares em todo o mundo. Quando é confrontado com o enorme sucesso da sua obra, Jorge Bucay responde: «Escrevo apenas livros para pensar.»
