John T. Hansen

John Hansen is Professor Emeritus, most recently Chair of Medical Education in Neurobiology and Anatomy and Associate Dean of Admissions at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Dr. Hansen received the University of Rochester's inaugural annual Presidential Diversity Award in recognition of his 24 years of commitment and dedicated efforts to increase the recruitment, retention, and graduation of medical school applicants from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Hansen researches peripheral and central dopaminergic systems, neural plasticity, and neural inflammation. He received an NIH Research Career Development Award and received several teaching awards, including the Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher AwardProfessor Hansen is the recipient of the AAMC's annual award for nationally recognized medical educators. He is the author of over 110 research publications, book chapters, and books. He was co-editor of the journal... Clinical Anatomy and the main consulting editor of Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy (2nd-7th editions). He continues to be the author of Netter's Anatomy Flash Cardsof Netter's Clinical Anatomy and of Netter's Anatomy Coloring Book.
