John Marshall

John Marshall (1845-1915), formado pelas universidades de Oxford e Edimburgo, foi professor de literatura clássica, filosofia e história antiga no Yorkshire College (agora conhecido como Leeds University) e na Universidade de Edimburgo. Classicista, tradutor e educador, cujo trabalho foi reconhecido e recebeu excelentes críticas, Marshall traduziu ainda diversas obras gregas e latinas. Tornou-se mais tarde reitor da Royal High School em Edimburgo.
