John 'Lofty' Wiseman

John "Lofty" Wiseman tinha dezoito anos quando se tornou a pessoa mais jovem de sempre a ingressar no Special Air Service (SAS), a força de elite do exército britânico - vindo do Regimento de Paraquedistas, ao qual se tinha juntado um ano antes. Serviu no SAS durante 26 anos, foi Chefe de Investigação Operacional do 22.º SAS, criou uma equipa de antirrapto, conhecida como SP Team, e fundou a equipa antiterrorista da mesma organização (conhecida pela sua participação no cerco à embaixada iraniana nos anos 80). Após deixar o SAS em 1985, Wiseman tornou se autor e consultor de sobrevivência, em várias produções televisivas e cinematográficas, como por exemplo no filme Memphis Belle, de 1990. A sua habilidade a preparar comida com materiais invulgares inspirou o ator Harry Connick Jr. a escrever a canção Lofty's Roach Soufflé. Wiseman faz parte da equipa de instrutores da Trueways Survival School e foi o instrutor da fase de seleção/formação do programa Castaway.
