John Barton

John Barton held the chair. Oriel and Laing Professor of Interpretation of the Holy Scriptures at the University of Oxford between 1991 and 2014 and has been a pastor in the Anglican Church since 1973. Author of numerous works on the Bible, co-coordinator of The Oxford Bible Commentary and coordinator of The Cambridge Companion to Biblical Interpretation, was elected Fellow from the British Academy in 2007 and it is Corresponding Fellow from the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters.
