Jocelyne Saucier nasceu em New Brunswick e vive em Abitibi, no Quebeque. É uma romancista galardoada com vários livros publicados. E choviam Pássaros, seu quarto romance, traduzido em vinte países, ganhou vários prémios, incluindo o Prémio dos leitores Radio-Canada, Prémio do Clube dos Irresistíveis, Prémio literário França-Quebeque, Prémio do Grande Salão público do livro de Montreal, Prémio Ringuet e Prémio dos Cinco Continentes da Francofonia, tendo sido nomeado para vários outros. Um filme baseado no livro foi lançado em 2019, tendo ganho o prémio de melhor filme internacional no Festival de Cinema de Gotemburgo, na Suécia.
