Joaquim Machado, é natural de Castelo Branco, cidade onde nasceu em 1948. Foi professor de Português durante 38 anos e deu aulas em vários estabelecimentos do ensino público e privado. Director de Turma diversas vezes, coordenou ainda diversos projectos nas escolas e colégios por onde passou. Actualmente vive em Lisboa, é casado e pai de dois filhos, tendo deixado de leccionar há cerca de dois anos. Dedica o seu tempo livre a fazer jardinagem e desporto, nomeadamente corrida.
