João Teixeira Pinto

João Teixeira Pinto nasceu em Lisboa em 1958. Licenciou-se em física pela Universidade de Lisboa tendo ingressado em 1985 como docente no Departamento de Matemática do Instituto Superior Técnico onde fez o seu mestrado em matemática. Em 1995 concluiu o doutoramento em matemática no Geórgia Institute of Technology, em Atlanta. E atualmente professor auxiliar no Instituto Superior Técnico e membro do Centro de Análise Matemática, Geometria e Sistemas Dinâmicos da mesma instituição. Desenvolve trabalho de investigação em sistemas dinâmicos e equações diferenciais com especial interesse em equações de reação-difusão, equações de coagulação-fragmentação, modelação matemática de cristais líquidos e biomatemática.
