João Paulo Borges Coelho é um escritor e historiador moçambicano. Professor jubilado, ensinou História Contemporânea de Moçambique e África-Austral na Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, em Maputo. Recebeu em 2004, com o romance As Visitas do Dr. Valdez, o Prémio José Craveirinha da Literatura, a maior distinção literária em Moçambique. Com O Olho de Hertzog recebeu o Prémio Leya 2009. Em 2022, o seu romance O Museu da Revolução recebeu o Prémio Oceanos 2022, 2º lugar. Em 2024, foi-lhe atribuído o Prémio Literário Guerra Junqueiro Lusofonia pelo conjunto da sua obra, que inclui romances, contos e novelas.
