João Gonçalves Henriques

João Gonçalves Henriques nasceu em Lisboa em 1952. É engenheiro civil, licenciado pelo IST - Instituto Superior Técnico, e desde cedo sentiu interesse pela literatura. De uma família ligada às letras e à política, aderiu aos movimentos estudantis que combateram a ditadura, tendo sido dirigente associativo no IST. Preso em 1973, foi expulso da universidade e exilado político na Suíça, em 1973-74. Entre 1988 e 1991, por opção, esteve destacado em Angola, num período conturbado de guerra civil. Regressou a África em 2006, dirigindo projetos no Gana e Guiné Equatorial, tendo conduzido empreendimentos mineiros na Guiné-Conacri (2010-16). Continua como consultor em projetos de desenvolvimento de infraestruturas em África. Em 2020, escreveu o livro infanto-juvenil O Tesouro Islâmico, dedicado aos netos. A segunda aventura literária é uma narrativa autobiográfica ficcionada numa viagem ao imaginário da sua memória. Tem quatro filhos e seis netos.
