João Ferreira do Amaral é professor catedrático aposentado do ISEG (Universidade de Lisboa). Tem escrito diversos livros e artigos sobre História, salientando-se os trabalhos sobre o povoamento pré-romano de Portugal, em particular os livros Povos Antigos em Portugal (em coautoria com Augusto Ferreira do Amaral, Quetzal, 2.ª edição, 2000) e Os Filhos de Caim e Portugal (Quetzal, 2004), Celtas e Indianos em Portugal (Ed. Parténon, 2017).
