João Cutileiro

João Pires Cutileiro (Lisboa, 26 de junho de 1937 — Lisboa, 5 de janeiro de 2021) foi um escultor português. Aos 14 anos faz a primeira exposição individual numa loja de máquinas de costura em Reguengos de Monsaraz. Troca a Escola Superior de Belas-Artes de Lisboa pela Slade School of Arts de Londres, onde é pupilo e, mais tarde, assistente de Reg Butler. Depois de visitar uma fábrica de mármores em Lagos, deixa de trabalhar a cerâmica e o gesso e elege a escultura em mármore e pedra, concebendo um estilo em que os objetos tanto se caracterizam pela simulação de um tratamento artesanal, como ostentam a caligrafia da máquina. Foi formador na Escola de Pedra em Lagos.
