Joana Lencart

Joana Lencart is a contracted researcher at CITCEM (Transdisciplinary Research Centre Culture, Space and Memory) at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, where she obtained her doctorate in 2018 with a thesis entitled Pedro Álvares Seco: a retroprojection of the memory of the Order of Christ in the 16th century, studying the documentation produced in the archive of the convent of Tomar in the 16th century..
Since September 2020, he has been dedicated to the project. "The Drawers of the Torre do Tombo: the impact of written memory on custodial history" (winner in the first edition of the Individual Scientific Employment Incentive Competition).
She collaborates on various national and international projects and is the author and co-author of numerous scientific articles and books.
In his research work, he dedicates himself to medieval history, especially the Military Orders of the Temple and of Christ, custodial history, and the editing of manuscripts.
He is a member of SSCLE (Society for the Study of the Crusade in the Latin East), from SPEM (Portuguese Society for Medieval Studies) and SEEM (Spanish Society of Medieval Studies).
