Doutorado em História, foi investigador do Institut national de l’audiovisuel entre 1983 e 1997. É desde esta data Leitor no Departamento de Comunicação da Universidade de Telavive.
Publicou, entre outros títulos, Haute Fidélité. Pouvoir et Télévision 1935-1994; Introdução aos Media; Transmissions. Technology, culture, globalization.
Actualmente tem em preparação uma história geral da televisão e um estudo sobre a cobertura do conflito israelo-palestiniano nos media ocidentais.
