Jennie Fields nasceu em Chicago e formou se no Iowa Writer’s Workshop. Depois de vários anos como diretora criativa em agências de publicidade de Nova Iorque, vive atualmente com o marido em Nashville, Tennessee. Para escrever Amor Atómico inspirou se no trabalho da sua mãe como bioquímica na Universidade de Chicago durante a década de 50.
