Jeffrey Archer nasceu em Londres, em 1940. Estudou na Universidade de Oxford antes de se dedicar à política e, depois, à escrita. Com mais de 300 milhões de exemplares vendidos em mais de cem países e quase cinquenta línguas, estabeleceu-se como um dos maiores escritores bestseller do mundo. Autor da célebre saga «As Crónicas de Clifton», deu nos últimos anos início à publicação da série «William Warwick», entre outros títulos.
Reconhecido pela sua disciplina enquanto escritor, chegando a trabalhar até catorze versões diferentes de cada livro, Archer traz também uma grande quantidade de conhecimento privilegiado aos seus livros, que proporcionam um vislumbre fascinante de uma série de mundos habitualmente fechados.
