Jean-Pierre Andrieux

Jean-Pierre Andrieux nasceu em Montreal (Canadá), sendo os seus pais naturais de St. Pierre e Miquelon, ilhas sob soberania francesa que se situam próximo da ilha da Terra Nova.

Sendo filho de um Capitão da Marinha Mercante, desde muito novo começou a ter afinidade com o mar e com os tripulantes das embarcações. Após ter concluído o Ensino Superior mudou-se para St. Pierre para gerir um hotel, um negócio familiar, sendo durante este período que entrou pela primeira vez em contacto com os portugueses e as suas embarcações de pesca.

No início dos anos 2000 mudou-se com a sua esposa, Elizabeth, para St. John’s, mas manteve a sua atividade hoteleira. Dispõe de uma coleção de sensivelmente 50 mil fotografias, na sua maioria relacionadas com o mar. É atualmente Vice-cônsul Honorário de Espanha para a Terra Nova e Labrador.
