Jean-Baptiste de Panafieu
Jean-Baptiste de Panafieu has always been passionate about marine life, dinosaurs, and mushrooms, having broadened his field of interest to all natural sciences. After graduating in Oceanography, obtaining a master's degree in Genetics, and a doctorate in Biological Oceanography, he became a high school Natural Sciences teacher.
In 1993, he dedicated himself to science communication, obtaining a degree in Cinematography from the University of Paris 7. Since then, he has produced documentaries for television.
Currently, he writes novels, documentary books, and scripts for graphic novels – for both adults and children –, curates educational exhibitions, creates board games, and gives scientific lectures. He has dedicated much of his energy to writing about ecology, human/nature relationships, and evolution, and is the author of several books in the life sciences field.
For his work, he has received the distinctions of Prix du livre scientifique 2018 and Prix Le goût des sciences 2017.
