Jean-Baptiste de Panafieu

Jean-Baptiste de Panafieu has always been passionate about marine life, dinosaurs, and mushrooms, having broadened his field of interest to all natural sciences. After graduating in Oceanography, obtaining a master's degree in Genetics, and a doctorate in Biological Oceanography, he became a high school Natural Sciences teacher. In 1993, he dedicated himself to science communication, obtaining a degree in Cinematography from the University of Paris 7. Since then, he has produced documentaries for television. Currently, he writes novels, documentary books, and scripts for graphic novels – for both adults and children –, curates educational exhibitions, creates board games, and gives scientific lectures. He has dedicated much of his energy to writing about ecology, human/nature relationships, and evolution, and is the author of several books in the life sciences field. For his work, he has received the distinctions of Prix ​​du livre scientifique 2018 and Prix ​​Le goût des sciences 2017.
