Licenciado em Engenharia Geográfica pela FCUP, tendo obtido o grau de mestre em ciências daEngenharia Geográfica pela mesma instituição. Actualmente é assistente da Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD) onde ministra, entre outras, as cadeiras de Cartografia e Topografia. Utilizador do AutoCADdesde 1997 assim como dos softwares da Autodesk para informação georreferenciada (Map) e de topografia e Engenharia Civil (Land desktop, Civil Design e Survey).
