Ignacio Ramonet

Ignacio Ramonet nasceu em Espanha em 1943. Doutorado em Semiologia e História Cultural (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris), é professor de Teoria da Comunicação na Universidade Denis-Diderot (Paris-VII) e professor associado da Universidade Carlos III de Madrid e da Universidade de São Petersburgo (Academia Polar).

É autor de várias obras sobre os media e geopolítica, entre as quais Le Chewing-gum des yeux (1981); La Communication victime des marchands (1989); Como nos venden la moto (com Noam Chomsky, 1995); Nouveaux pouvoirs, nouveaux maîtres du monde (1996); Un mundo sin rumbo (1997); Géopolitique de chaos (1997).

É director do jornal Le Monde diplomatique, cuja edição portuguesa é publicada pela Campo da Comunicação.
