Howard Jacobson

Howard Jacobson, of Jewish origin, was born in Manchester in 1945.
His novels focus on the relationships and behaviors of British Jewish society, which has led critics to consider him the "English Philip Roth." He says, however, ironically, that he prefers to be known as the "Jewish Jane Austen."
Alongside his writing, he also taught English at Wolverhampton Polytechnic in the West Midlands, at Selwyn College, and at the University of Sydney. He also participated in several television programs on the British channel Channel 4.
The Finkler Question, winner of the 2010 Man Booker Prize, is the author's first book published in Portugal.
