Licenciada em Neurociência pela Universidade de Bristol, tem um mestrado em Comunicação Científica pelo Imperial College London. Consultora da revista New Scientist, foi nomeada para o prémio de Melhor Jornalista Científica nos British Journalism Awards. Especialista em temas como o cérebro, o corpo e o comportamento, também gosta de escrever sobre fertilidade, saúde, tecnologia e ambiente.
Tem recebido vários prémios e distinções, nomeadamente da Association of British Science Writers, da British Journalism Association, da Medical Journalist's Association e da Professional Publishers Association.
Também colaborou com The Guardian, The Washington Post, The Daily Mail e Nature e participou em programas de rádio e televisão.
