Hanna Diab

Hanna Diab (n. circa 1688 - m. ?) foi um mercador e viajante sírio que acompanhou em diversas viagens Paul Lucas, aventureiro e caçador de tesouros exóticos. Estas viagens culminaram com uma estada em França. Em 1709, Diab encontrou-se com Antoine Galland, que publicara já 7 dos 12 volumes de As Mil e Uma Noites, a quem terá contado várias histórias provavelmente inventadas por si, inspiradas na sua vivência e nas viagens que fez. Em alguns casos, eram também adaptações muito livres de contos e de lendas árabes.
