Graça Alves nasceu em Coimbra, onde vive.
É licenciada em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas, variante de estudos portugueses e italianos, pela Universidade de Coimbra.
Exerce a docência há cerca de 20 anos, tendo, ao longo da sua carreira, passado por diversas escolas básicas e secundárias do país.
Tem publicado regularmente poemas e textos de intervenção social no Diário de Coimbra.
Cores do Silêncio é a sua primeira obra de poesia publicada em livro.
