Giovannino Guareschi (Parma, 1908 - Ravenna, 1968), foi um célebre jornalista, escritor e humorista italiano. Dirigiu várias publicações e fundou a revista humorística Candido. Ficou conhecido pela série literária que tem como figuras centrais o padre Dom Camilo e o presidente de Câmara comunista Peppone. Duas personalidades que, na companhia de um conjunto de outras personagens, ajudaram a imortalizar Guareschi e a sua obra, que mereceu honras de adaptações cinematográficas.
