Germán Marín

Figura maior das letras chilenas, Germán Marín (1934-2019) tinha fama de outsider impenitente e refratário ao reconhecimento internacional. Na sua longa vida, cruzam-se as aulas de Jorge Luis Borges em Buenos Aires, a amizade de Pablo Neruda, com quem fundaria a editora Isla Negra, os textos de Gabriel García Márquez a que deu forma, antes de se tornar editor, e o supremo desgosto de poucos acreditarem que um dia dançou com Ava Gardner. Colaborava com a editora Quimantú, apoiada por Salvador Allende, quando o golpe de Pinochet e a destruição do seu romance Fuegos artificiales (1973) o levaram ao exílio no México e em Espanha. Regressou ao Chile em 1992, e a sua obra em torno da memória coletiva, na qual se destaca a trilogia Historia de una absolución familiar, marcou profundamente a literatura chilena do século XX.
