Geovani Martins nasceu em 1991, em Bangu, no Rio de Janeiro.
Trabalhou como "homem-placa", numa lanchonete, empregado em buffet infantil e bar de praia.
Em 2013 e 2015, participou das oficinas da Festa Literária das Periferias, a Flup.
Publicou contos na revista Setor X.
O seu livro de estreia, a coletânea de contos O sol na cabeça, publicado pela Companhia das Letras em 2019, está em processo de adaptação para série televisiva. Conquistando para o seu autor um imediato e raro prestígio literário, este livro foi publicado em países como Estados Unidos da América, Inglaterra, França, Alemanha e Itália, acolhido por algumas das mais prestigiadas editoras do mundo.
Via Ápia é o primeiro romance de Geovani Martins.
