Fred Hirsch

Fred Hirsch (1931-1978) foi um economista austríaco conhecido pela sua crítica social ao crescimento. Pós-keynesiano, a sua pesquisa concentrou-se na inflação. Os Limites Sociais do Crescimento, livro publicado em 1976, deu-lhe notoriedade planetária, com a tese de que o crescimento material não pode cumprir a promessa de uma classe média ao alcance de todos. A morte prematura não lhe permitiu desenvolver as suas ideias.
