Frank Herbert (1920-1986) was born in Tacoma, Washington, on October 8, 1920. He was a journalist and science fiction writer. He gained notoriety for his work. Dune...as well as the five subsequent books in the series. As described by his son Brian Herbert in Dune DreamerIn his acclaimed biography of his father, Frank Herbert wanted his books to have enough depth to justify multiple readings, and so the saga deals with themes such as human survival, the evolution of consciousness, ecology, and the interaction between religion, power, and politics. Dune It won the Nebula Award in 1965 and shared the Hugo Award the following year, being described by Arthur C. Clarke as a work comparable only to... The Lord of the Rings.
