Francisco Rui Cádima é professor catedrático aposentado do Departamento de Ciências da Comunicação da NOVA FCSH. Integrou equipas de trabalho de comissões nacionais como a Comissão de Reflexão sobre o Futuro da Televisão (1996) e o Livro Verde para a Sociedade de Informação (1997). Foi membro de diversas associações e conselhos sectoriais, tendo sido nomeadamente membro dos Conselhos de Opinião da RDP e RTP. É doutorado em Comunicação Social pela NOVA FCSH (1993), com a tese O Telejornal e o Sistema Político em Portugal ao Tempo de Salazar e Caetano (1957-1974). É autor e coautor de diversas obras sobre comunicação, audiovisual e novos media.
