Francis Trochu

Francis Trochu (1877-1967) foi sacerdote, historiador e biógrafo francês, conhecido pela sua precisão documental e pela profundidade espiritual das suas obras. Professor e mais tarde reitor do Seminário Maior de Grenoble, dedicou grande parte da sua vida ao estudo das figuras exemplares da santidade cristã. Entre os seus escritos mais célebres destacam-se Le Curé d’Ars: Saint Jean-Marie-Baptiste Vianney, Sainte Bernadette Soubirous e La Bienheureuse Anne-Marie Taïgi. O seu método combina rigor histórico e sensibilidade espiritual, procurando sempre unir a fidelidade às fontes com a inspiração que nasce da fé. O seu trabalho sobre o Cura d’Ars é, até hoje, considerado a biografia definitiva do santo padroeiro dos sacerdotes.
