Frances Hardinge
Frances Hardinge was born in Kent, England, and has always enjoyed dark stories. She studied at Oxford, where she won a literary competition sponsored by a magazine. But it was later, with the book The Girl Who Knew How to Read, published by Presença, that she gained notoriety. The Tree of Lies consolidated her success as an author and brought her a prestigious literary distinction, the Costa Prize for Best Book of the Year in 2015. The rights to this work are sold to more than 10 countries.
