É o mais novo romancista português: tem 71 anos e Inferno no Vaticano é o seu grande romance, a aposta da sua vida. Estudante vagabundo, autodidacta convicto, leu Romeu e Julieta aos 11 anos, o que explica a mudança do apelido para Capuleto.
Leu muito, viveu mais: de um escritório de advogados a soldado em Angola, passando por uma fábrica de malas de viagem, fez tudo até ser dono de um aviário de frangos. Fartou-se. Não queria frangos, queria livros. Começou por vendê-los, como distribuidor, às livrarias. Decidiu, agora, escrevê-los e é como se a sua vida começasse de novo.
