Filippo Tommaso Marinetti

Filippo Tommaso Marinetti (1876, Alexandria¿1944, Bellagio) é sobretudo conhecido por ter escrito o Manifesto Futurista («Queremos cantar o amor ao perigo, o hábito da energia e da temeridade»). Apesar de se formar em direito, decide dedicar-se por inteiro à literatura. Começa por escrever poesia na juventude, participando activamente em revistas e jornais. Mafarka, o Futurista é o seu primeiro romance e apresenta-nos um protagonista sobre-humano numa prosa pictórica e selvática. É um apoiante severo do regime fascista, embora o governo italiano considere a sua uma «arte degenerada». Morre aos 67 anos de ataque cardíaco, sem chegar a ver consumada a queda de Mussolini.
