Filipe Melo
Filipe Melo is a musician, film director, and comic book artist. He developed a passion for the piano and improvisation from an early age. He studied at Hot Club of Portugal and later, in Berklee College of Music, in Boston. After many years as a pianist, he also became a composer and orchestrator. He currently teaches at the Higher School of Music in Lisbon. In the film industry, he has created several cult projects: I'll See You in My Dreams, short film winner at Fantasporto, A Cute World and Sleepwalk, a short film that won the Sophia Award from the Portuguese Film Academy. In the US, she writes for the legendary anthology Dark Horse PresentsAlongside names like Frank Miller and Mike Mignola, he received the honorary trophy at the Amadora BD festival in 2019. He has collaborated with Juan Cavia for over a decade, and the duo has already published several books in Portugal and abroad.
