Fernando Sobral (1960-2022) foi um dos cronistas e críticos culturais mais presentes na imprensa portuguesa (Semanário, O Independente, Diário Económico, Se7e, Jornal de Negócios e Público). Publicou vários romances, como L. Ville, Ela Cantava Fados (ambos na Quetzal), O Segredo do Hidroavião, A Grande Dama do Chá, O Navio do Ópio, além de livros de crónica e ensaio. Morreu em maio de 2022. A revisão do livro O Jogo das Escondidas decorreu pouco tempo antes.
