Fernando Savater nasceu em San Sebastián em 1947. Catedrático de ética na Universidade Complutense de Madrid, é autor de uma vasta obra que abarca o ensaio, a narrativa e o teatro. Entre outros galardões, recebeu o Prémio Francisco Cerecedo da Associação de Jornalistas Europeus e o Prémio Sakharov de Direitos Humanos.
Fernando Savater é um dos pensadores mais destacados de Espanha e tem vindo a ganhar grande popularidade no mundo inteiro.
