Fernando Cabral Martins é professor de Literatura Portuguesa na Universidade Nova de Lisboa. É autor, além de livros de ficção, de artigos e livros sobre a literatura e a arte portuguesas: Cesário Verde ou a Transformação do Mundo (Comunicação, 1988), O Modernismo em Mário de Sá-Carneiro (Estampa, 1994), O Trabalho das Imagens (Aríon, 2000), Julio. O Realismo Mágico (Caminho, 2005). Organizou várias edições de Fernando Pessoa, Mário de Sá-Carneiro, Almada Negreiros, Alexandre O’Neill e Luiza Neto Jorge (na Assírio & Alvim, a partir de 1996). Coordenou o Dicionário de Fernando Pessoa e do Modernismo Português (Caminho, 2008).
