Faíza Hayat nasceu em Lisboa, filha de mãe portuguesa, católica, e pai goês, muçulmano. Reside em Barcelona, onde prepara um doutoramento em antropologia.
Assina há vários anos uma crónica na revista XIS, Conversas com o Espelho. Tem contos publicados em diversas revistas espanholas e portuguesas. O Evangelho Segundo a Serpente é o seu primeiro romance.
A compilação das suas crónicas num volume intitulado Conversas com o Espelho será igualmente publicada em breve pela Dom Quixote.
