Eucanaã Ferraz nasceu no Rio de Janeiro em 1961. É professor de Literatura Brasileira na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro e consultor de literatura do Instituto Moreira Salles. Publicou oito livros de poemas — entre os quais Desassombro (2002, Prémio Alphonsus de Guimaraens, da Fundação Biblioteca Nacional), Sentimental (2012, Prémio Portugal Telecom para Melhor Livro de Poesia) —, reunidos em Portugal no volume Poesia (1990-2016). Pela Tinta-da-china, lançou Retratos com Erro (2019), que recebeu o Prémio Oeiras de Poesia. É também autor de poesia infantojuvenil e organizou livros e antologias de e sobre Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Vinicius de Moraes, Caetano Veloso e Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen.
