Éric Faye é romancista, ensaísta e jornalista da agência Reuters. Autor prolífico, viu já algumas obras premiadas com distinções importantes, nomeadamente o prémio Deux Magots (por Je suisle gardien du phare), o prémio Unesco-Françoise-Gallimard (por Croisière en mer despluies)e o Grande Prémio de Romance da Academia Francesa pela obra agora publicada em Portugal pela Gradiva. Éric Faye coordenou um número da prestigiada revista Autrement dedicado a Kafka e editou as obras de Ismail Kadaré.
