Emmanuel Lepage

Emmanuel Lepage (1966 - ) is a screenwriter and illustrator, born in Saint-Brieuc, France, in 1966. His encounter at age 13 with the illustrator Jean-Claude Fournier (Spirou) would be decisive. Fournier, as Franquin had done with himself, would teach him the rudiments of the profession. With a background in architecture, Lepage is primarily a curious traveler – what interests him most are people, their lives. This is a strange paradox, since his notoriety as an illustrator is largely based on the immense, sublime, and lyrical landscapes that characterize his greatest successes. "Muchacho", "La Lune est Blanche", "Ar-Men"...His gaze, however, lies elsewhere, beneath the skin of his characters, an inner life that he explores with the acuity, sensitivity, and talent of a generous draftsman, always in search of his graphic truth. The Diary WESTERN FRANCE He received his first illustrations in 1983, and also published his first album entitled "La fin du monde aura-t-elle lieu?"In 1990, Lombard published the two volumes of "The Messenger", written by Georges Pernin and based on the novel by Huguette Carrière. This work, (which appeared in the collection "Aire Libre" (and with a script by Anne Sibran), it has won several awards: the Ecumenical Jury Prize for Comics (Human Values ​​Award), the Grand Prize at the Sierre Festival in Switzerland, and the Award from the Association of Comic Book Stores. His first major story as a complete author, "Muchacho", won the Prize Château de Cheverny From the Comic Book History.
