Emily Barr estudou História da Arte, foi investigadora e, enquanto jornalista, teve uma coluna regular no The Guardian e outra no Observer. A sua paixão pela escrita e pelos livros levou-a a abandonar tudo para apostar na sua carreira de escritora.

Nos últimos 15 anos, Emily publicou mais de uma dezena de livros. A Única Memória da Flora Banks é o seu primeiro livro para jovens adultos e já está publicado em 23 países.

Adora viajar e é apaixonada por música, sobretudo pelas canções de Leonard Cohen. Vive na Cornualha, Reino Unido, com o companheiro e os filhos.
