Else Holmelund Minarik (Dinamarca, 1920 - Estados Unidos, 2012). Emigrou para os Estados Unidos com a sua família quando tinha quatro anos. Estudou Psicologia e Arte na Universidade de Nova Iorque. Trabalhou como jornalista e professora. Autora da série "Urso Pequeno" e de outros livros de Literatura Infantil e Juvenil.
