Elise Gravel nasceu em Montreal, em 1977. A sua paixão pelo desenho começou quando ainda era criança. Mais tarde, estudou Design Gráfico e decidiu seguir Ilustração. Já escreveu e ilustrou mais de 30 livros, um deles vencedor do Governor General's Literary Award. Vive em Montreal com a sua família, gatos (e algumas aranhas). Trabalha em projetos no Canadá e nos EUA e tem livros traduzidos para vários idiomas.
