Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Elisabeth Kübler-Ross [1926–2004] was the first major driving force behind a new way of treating terminally ill patients. Her work was crucial to the functioning of hospices and palliative care centers, to bioethics, and to the study of near-death experiences. She graduated in Medicine from the University of Zurich and specialized in Psychiatry at Manhattan State HospitalShe conducted research at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and taught at the University of Chicago. She was awarded a star in... National Women's Hall of Fame, was included in the list of the 100 Most Important Thinkers of the 20th Century by the magazine Team and received 19 titles "Honoris Causa"Author of 24 books, translated into 44 languages, she comforted millions of people with her lectures, seminars, and academic work.
