Eliane Brum
Eliane Brum was born in 1966 in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul. She lives in Altamira, in the heart of the Amazon. A writer, journalist, and documentary filmmaker, she is the most awarded reporter in Brazilian history, having received the Maria Moors Cabot Prize from Columbia University (USA) in 2021 for her body of work. She founded the platform... Sumaúma — Journalism from the center of the world (sumauma.com), based in the Amazon, and is a columnist for the newspaper.
